Beginner level narrated video guide that will show you how to create simple motion tweens. I will demonstrate how to have a text title zoom in and a droplet of paint drip from the title and deform as it hits the pavement below.

LINK

Note: If your display is set below 1280x1024, open the guide from the Weekly Flash Guide homepage, as it will open the video guide in a window without browser buttons and toolbars.

Please add any questions or comments regarding this guide to this thread.

Again, another interesting guide Norm. Thanks!

About the only question I have (at the moment) is: how would one make the title-zoom and droplet-drop smoother? Unless it's my browser or flash player, the current movements seem kind of jerky, like there's not enough frames for the amount of movement..

Thanks Harp.

My video guides are exported at a measley 7 frames per second. This keeps the file size of the video guides way down (This 11 minute guide was squashed down to only 4.09 MB). This makes your streaming experience much faster. BTW... did you notice I updated my video guide navigation controls so that you can see the download progress? The dark blue bar displays how much of the video is downloaded. This will help out those unfortunate folks that don't have a broadband connection know when the file is done downloading so they can wait till it is done to play the file without it stopping.

Here is the 30 fps SWF animation I created while recording the guide:

If you can't see the animation above, an HTML page containing the animation is located HERE.
