I shot some video demonstrating how you navigate the menu screens of
each device to play back an MP3 file. Once again, the RD2780 annoyed me.
Whenever you select a song to play, it asks you if you want to play the
song or add it to a playlist. Really stupid. I think that they should
program pressing the the Play button when a song is highlighted to add
it to a playlist. If you do select Add it to playlist, it gives you the
dreaded "Feature will be available in future upgrades" message
box. I do like how the RD2780 displays all of the ID3 tags when playing
an MP3 file.
The AV300 allows you to browse to another song while a song is playing.
The RD2780 shuts off the currently playing song whenever you navigate.
Bad RD2780!
The AV300 does not display the track number or year information that
is included on all of my MP3 files. It does have a neat way of displaying
information about any video or music file (type, file size, date and time
created, duration, kbps, and frequency). I show this feature at the end
of the AV300 clip. You can tell that I only have 30 minutes of navigating
the AV300 under my belt when I recorded this clip. You may also note the
awesome LED levels on the slick looking music player.
