Zvue Review (Part 1 of 3)

Zvue History

I got the Zvue in early 2003. Back when I got it though, the whole concept of a cheap, (less than $200), media player was still under development. HandHeld Entertainment created the Zvue in 2002 but it could only play ".hhe" encoded files. They had some skateboarding videos, and assorted others on the market, a little like the videoNOW player and sold it for $99.

Then they came out with the MP4 Zvue that played mp4 files, jpg images, and mp3 files. It sold for $149.99, which is what I paid for mine in early 2003. They also sell the mp4 upgrade to users who purchased the hhe only player.

Hardware

The Zvue comes with a set of headphones, a USB cable, 4 AA batteries (which is what it operates on :), and a 32 MB MMC card preloaded with a skateboarding video.
